m.o.p.s. app

Client: aescoLOGIC

How to modernize an app without losing sight of the essentials and creating real practical benefits in the process.

m.o.p.s. app
The case summarized in brief! 🚀

The challenge

When we took on the development of the m.o.p.s app, it quickly became clear that it had potential. Our mission: to make the app technically fit, visually adapt it to aescoLOGIC's new CI, and completely rethink the user experience—without losing sight of the target audience. In everyday practice, one thing counts above all else: fast and uncomplicated solutions—no frills, but with style. The result should not only work for aescoLOGIC, but also for the parent company: modular in structure, with specific features and a customized design. Two companies. One system. Twice as efficient.

The solution

We gave the m.o.p.s app a complete makeover – both technically and visually. The interface was modernized, adapted to the new CI of aescoLOGIC, and designed with a clear focus on usability. New features were integrated in such a way that they make everyday work easier.

Because efficiency doesn't stop at user guidance, the app was designed to be modular so that the parent company also benefits: with its own look and specific functions, but at the same time on a common technical basis. This saves resources, reduces maintenance costs, and ensures well-thought-out scaling.

Our approach to concept and design

The healthcare sector demonstrates what good design and smart technology can achieve: a real impact on everyday life. After all, when practice staff can work smoothly and efficiently, everyone benefits in the end—including patients. That's why we consistently rely on genuine user feedback from everyday life to build an interface that really gets the job done, rather than just looking good.

We develop iteratively and with great attention to detail. Always with the goal of making daily work noticeably easier and processes smarter. The result is an app that creates lasting added value because it performs exactly where it really counts: in practice operations.

    1. Directly from everyday life to the interface: Through extensive user testing, we have gathered real insights directly from the people who work with the app on a daily basis. Because only those who work with the app in their everyday lives know where the problems lie.
    2. Iterative design: adapted, tested, and optimized step by step—so that the new design not only looks good, but also proves itself in real-world use.
    3. Functional thinking: Orders are the focus. That's why they were made the heart of the app. Every click counts, every second saved is a gain in practice.
    4. Remaining capable of growth: The app is constantly being further developed. New functions can be integrated modularly without breaking the system.
    5. Two brands, one framework: Design and functionality were tailored to both CI systems without reinventing the wheel.
Real usability tests lead to measurable quality improvements. 🧠

Our highlight: usability tests that make a difference

What happens when you bring real users on board early on and work together on the solution? Exactly: you don't develop a hypothetical nice-to-have, but an interface that really makes everyday practice easier.

Before writing a single line of code, we listened to the people who work with the app every day. In task-based usability tests, we ran through real-life usage scenarios: Where are the sticking points when ordering? What's missing? What's confusing? The answers are invaluable, providing valuable insights from everyday life, and were directly incorporated into the concept and UX.

Thanks to close collaboration with aescoLOGIC, we developed an app concept that works directly in everyday practice. Best of all, the parent company also benefits, as the optimized UX was incorporated into the second app version. A clean solution that's twice as smart.

Stable, smart, and ready for everyday practice

It is essential during development that the app runs reliably, securely, and efficiently in practice, even when offline or under stress. That's why we rely on smart architecture, modern frameworks, and a modular structure that brings real benefits to both users and developers.

  1. White label system: One code base, multiple companies – with custom themes, APIs, and features to save time and effort.
  2. Offline mode: Orders are stored locally and automatically synchronized, ideal for unstable networks in everyday practice.
  3. Security & monitoring: OAuth2 with Keycloak, automatic token refresh, and Sentry error tracking ensure secure and stable app performance.
  4. iOS technology: SwiftUI and SwiftData guarantee native performance and smart data management.
  5. Android technology: Jetpack Compose, Room database, and WorkManager for reliable synchronization, as well as features such as QR code scanners and barcode recognition via ML Kit.

Processes that were previously manual and cumbersome are now much more efficient and digitized. This saves us and our customers a lot of time every day. We were particularly impressed by our collaboration with pemedia: professional, fast, and always with an eye for the essentials. This is what true partnership feels like.

Further development with a plan – so that every innovation has an impact

Standing still is not an option in the world of healthcare. Especially when it comes to making everyday work in medical practices easier. That's why we are continuously developing the m.o.p.s app: smarter processes, new features, bigger topics. Modular in design and implemented with the future in mind.

The basis is a well-thought-out design phase with everyone involved: aescoLOGIC, our team, and—most importantly—the people who work with the app every day. This is how tech and use cases go hand in hand. Because in the end, what matters is what the user gets. With m.o.p.s, that's not just a package, but a real handling advantage.

Our conclusion

The m.o.p.s app is more than just a tech project. It is a real game changer in the healthcare sector. It is a project close to our hearts because we know that when tools work in everyday practice, they noticeably reduce the workload on staff and improve care for everyone. We are proud to be making a small but important contribution with this solution. In healthcare in particular, every optimization counts, as it takes the pressure off people and gives them more time for the things that really matter: working with patients.
