The challenge

How can we convey the excellent service that is provided day after day, especially by the employees in the agencies, on the website? And how can we build a content ecosystem that works not only for one insurance brand, but for several?

The solution:

We are developing a website that not only presents the insurance products, but also focuses on the agencies and their employees. We are giving each agency the opportunity to present itself individually, authentically, and personally on its own agency website.

Our approach to concept and design

The design of a website for an insurance company should focus particularly on building trust, ensuring user-friendliness, and making information easily accessible. To this end, we paid particular attention to the following aspects in the concept and design:

  1. Building trust: Policyholders want to be able to rely on their insurance company without any ifs or buts! This requires a professional, serious, and modern layout. Maximum transparency about insurance products and their terms and conditions. Recommendations from people who are already RheinLand policyholders and the mention of trustworthy certificates. Above all, personal contact with the employees on site in the agencies is paramount.
  2. Individuality: Each agency has its own unique character, which is as individual as each individual policyholder. It was therefore particularly important to us that each agency could present itself in its own individual, authentic, and personal way.
  3. User-friendliness: First and foremost, this means simple menu navigation, clear calls to action, and intuitive search. Sounds trivial? In the complex world of insurance products, however, it is a real challenge and therefore all the more important.
  4. Lead generation: There need to be simple ways to get in touch with an advisor. This means that local agencies must be quick and easy to find and assigned to customers. Once assigned, the contact details must be available anytime, anywhere. In addition to personal inquiries, there is also the option of requesting specific quotes using a form. Furthermore, landing pages for targeted campaigns can be created individually directly via the website CMS.
  5. Content strategy: Insurance products are already very complex for the average person, so easily understandable texts, a rejection of complicated jargon, and a clear idea for a content strategy are needed. At this point, we would like to send our best regards to our partner agency Granpasso, who, in collaboration with the marketing and editorial team at RheinLand Versicherungen, have brought the topic of content to life!

The perfect case for a content ecosystem

There were also a lot of challenges for us on the technical side. The CMS had to be multi-client capable, meaning it had to be able to represent multiple insurance brands under one CMS umbrella. In addition, it had to be able to represent the different strategic orientations within a brand, such as the agency model already mentioned, where a direct connection to the central agency database is very important in order to keep team and contact data up to date, among other things.
To meet these requirements, we chose Payload CMS as the foundation for building this website, as it provides the flexibility and architectural freedom needed to implement complex, scalable content ecosystems.
